The Story
On a bright spring day, the Old Dutch Church grounds transformed into a portal of play, curiosity, and communal delight. From 11 AM to 3 PM, children and grown-ups alike gathered beneath the budding canopy, crowns and wings glinting in the dappled light, ready to step into a festival of faerie wonder.
Music threaded through storytelling and crafts, while waist‑high laughter mingled with the scent of budding flowers. The Faerie Queen and Court guided a joyful parade: a pageant of feathered wings, handmade wands, and heartfelt cheer that invited us all into the realm of shared enchantment.
Offerings and Activities
Together, we co‑created moments of magic and whimsy:
Crafted crowns, wands, and wings—tiny artifacts of imagination that sparkled with personal magic.
Embarked on a playful Trash-to‑Treasure Hunt, transforming the familiar into spellbinding discoveries.
Paraded beneath spring skies, led by the Faerie Queen and Court, weaving joy with every step.
Discovered a display—and created our own—beautiful Fae Folk Houses, tenderly built with natural and reclaimed materials in honor of the hidden ones.
All the while, free food and storytelling wove through the gathering, inviting hearts to open with delight.
Community and Heartful Intent
March O’ the Faeries wove together imagination and accessibility: it was fully free to the public, embodying an open-door ethos where creativity and joy could bloom for everyone. Costumes—no matter how simple or elaborate—were an invitation, not a requirement. The festival reflected our belief that belonging, wonder, and shared storycraft are threads that hold us together.
